OSF Healthcare- Illinois Neurological Institute to Hold Community Osteoporosis Discussion
– It may be something you think about for elderly, grandmotherly types – that hunched-over look. Stooped posture is the classic appearance when osteoporosis affects the bones of the spine.
But did you know about 54 million Americans have osteoporosis or low bone mass, which puts them at increased risk for osteoporosis? Studies suggest that approximately one in two women and up to one in four men age 50 and older will break a bone due to osteoporosis. This can cause serious complications, including permanent pain.
Join specialists from the Illinois Neurological Institute for a town hall discussion about osteoporosis, the risk factors and the resources available to help you take action.
